it seems like what is new and edgy to the younger crowd and loud and vulgar to the older crowd then cycles as those young people become old and becomes classy and acceptable and “old people music” after time passes (think about jazz and how it used to be seen as super rebellious and rowdy and now it’s been super popularized and if you’re a young kid listening to jazz then you’re listening to old people music)
basically what i’m saying is that i can’t wait for the day when listening to the spice girls is seen as dignified and is “old people music” while the youngins listen to whatever is “the haps” in like eighty years

in other news i finally figured out how the anchor ritual in blood anchor is gonna work and it’s going to be super cool looking
prediction: the next disney princess movie will be the twelve dancing princesses, featuring twelve slightly modified versions of the rapunzel model (plus different hair and clothes), so they can make twelve nearly identical princess dolls that you can collect with a mcdonald’s happy meal!!!!!!!!
I'm really confused about why everyone is so upset about Frozen, mostly because I haven't seen much for it yet, just the screencaps...why's it a bad thing?
okay here’s some of the original concept art for the snow queen, now “frozen”
look at how gorgeous/interesting that looks
now look at screen caps from frozen. disney decided that the original concept art wouldn’t sell enough dolls so they younged down the snow queen and basically just reused the same models they made for tangled with cosmetic changes (hair, wardrobe, some minor pushing and pulling). it’s not creative or original, it’s not even trying to do anything interesting and new. it’s basically just “tangled on ice” - which is actually how it was pitched!
also look at the snowman character and tell me he doesn’t look absolutely terrifying

I was just curious, what kind of sketchbook do you use?
right now i have some fancy french sketchbook my dad and step-mom got be for christmas, but usually i just draw in whatever i can get my hands on
hey what did you use to achieve that lovely gold effect on the first sketch of the blood anchor sketchdump you just posted? i can't tell if it's some sort of special gold ink or just shading playing with my eyes but it looks shiny almost like gold embossing and it's really cool
